Scholarship Award Winners 2026

We are delighted to announce our Annual Scholarship Award winners for 2026 for academic excellence.

These awards are given each year to three pupils with the highest scores in their PEP exams. The first prize of J$45,000 was won by Khalil Thompson (main photo pictured with his parents) who scored 337 out of 400. The second prize of J$30,000 was won by Jefton Irving, who scored 303 out of 400. The third prize of J$25,000 was won by Aldonijah Palmer (pictured with a former student) who scored 302 out of 400.

On receiving his award, 1st prize winner Khalil Thompson said the awards encouraged him to work hard, while 2nd prize winner Jefton Irving, stated that the funds would assist with school fees and school supplies.

Founder Dr Gabriel said: “On behalf of Jenny Harriott Foundation I congratulate our three scholarship award winners this year and wish them every success with the next stage of their educational journeys. I am sure with the excellent teaching and learning they have received at Zion Hill Primary, they will go far in life,”

Awards Expanding in 2027

In 2027, JHF will be adding two new categories to the Annual Scholarship Awards: Best Attendance and Most Improved Pupil, to ensure that hard work and academic improvement is rewarded alongside academic achievement.  JHF is grateful to all the generous donors who have made these awards possible. These scholarships not only support Zion Hill Primary and the local community, but they honour the memory of Jenny Harriott, the posthumous benefactor of these awards.

New Sign to Commemorate Jenny Harriott

We are seeking to raise additional funds to erect a permanent sign near the entrance of the school, welcomed by Principal Simone Green Johnson. The sign will commemorate the history and legacy of Jenny Harriott and inspire Zion Hill pupils each and every day they attend school. Every donation, no matter how small is an act of kindness that helps to empower and uplift the children of Zion Hill and wider community in Bombay, Manchester, Jamaica.
